College Math Success

Algebra, functions, stats and calculus survival strategy.

▶️

College Math Success covers placement tests, algebra you must own, functions and graphs, statistics basics and how to actually pass calculus without cramming.

Kid Tapp™ overview episode

Own your algebra

  • Solve linear equations by isolating the variable — do the same thing to both sides.
  • Factoring: x² + 5x + 6 = (x + 2)(x + 3). Practice until it's instant.
  • Exponent rules: xᵃ · xᵇ = xᵃ⁺ᵇ, (xᵃ)ᵇ = xᵃᵇ, x⁻ᵃ = 1/xᵃ.

Functions, graphs and stats

  • f(x) is a machine: input x, output f(x). Slope = rise/run = rate of change.
  • Mean is the average, median is the middle, standard deviation is the spread.
  • Correlation is not causation — always ask what else could explain it.

Passing calculus

  • A derivative is a rate of change; an integral is an accumulated total.
  • Do problems daily in short blocks, not one long panic session.
  • Go to office hours in week 2, not week 12. Free tutoring is included in your tuition.

⏱️ Timed Challenge

4 questions · 60 seconds · beat your score.

📝 Homework Lab · AI grading

Paste a math problem and your steps. You'll get feedback on where the reasoning breaks and how to fix it.

Keep going — I'm proud of you. 💪
